About Me
I am Dennis Kontic, a cybersecurity professional focused on Blue Team operations, vulnerability management, incident response, endpoint security, and identity and access management.
I currently work as a Level 1 IT Technician at CarShield, where my responsibilities have expanded into cybersecurity. I perform vulnerability scanning across endpoints supporting three affiliated companies, triage and investigate SentinelOne EDR alerts involving malicious endpoint activity and phishing, and support IAM lifecycle and privileged access processes using Microsoft Entra PIM, MFA, and least privilege principles.
Previously, as an Information Security Intern at Ascend Learning, I triaged 10+ SIEM alerts daily, investigated phishing and malicious attachments, escalated verified security incidents, identified false positive tuning opportunities, and supported MITRE ATT&CK based detection engineering. I also gained public sector IT experience with St. Charles County Government supporting a large enterprise user environment.
Through DonkeySec, I create hands on cybersecurity education for 3,500+ learners and practitioners, averaging approximately 20,000 monthly impressions. My content translates offensive attack techniques into practical defensive labs, walkthroughs, and tutorials across SOC analysis, DFIR, threat hunting, malware analysis, vulnerability management, detection engineering, and AI security.
I regularly build and study hands on environments across Hack The Box, TryHackMe, CyberDefenders, Blue Team Labs Online, and other cybersecurity platforms. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity with a Minor in Business Administration from Lindenwood University, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.94 GPA.
